This compendium of information about Lowell Elementary school is absolutely wonderful to review. I am a student of Lowell and lived both on Carr Hill, and North G Street during my elementary years. I have never seen the early pictures of the school before coming across this page. Thank you for assembling this information. I am going to send it to the Tacoma Historical Society for their input.
I went by the school as it was being demolished, it was a bit sad to see these memories now fade into the history books. I am looking forward to the seeing the new school.

I have such very fond memories of my time at Lowell. I moved into the neighborhood just a month before school started and went from kindergarten though 6th grade there. Very formulative years and I remember many of the teachers well, as well as still have some good friends from those days. It was a wonderful time I feel grateful to have experienced. We even survived playing on monkee bars and swings over concrete. Of all my schooling which includes college, it was the fondest time of my schooling life. Very sad to see the building down, but I know it will live on in a new and better building for future generations.
