Caption: Miss Anna B. Quigley and her 6A pupils at the Lowell School who have held the past semester the savings banner given by the Educational Thrift Service with headquarters in New York. Each Tuesday is banking day in Tacoma public schools and each week Miss Quiqley’s room had the greatest percentage of depositors at Lowell. Miss Quigley’s classes for two years have won the banner every week with the exception of one banking day and this semester’s class held it without surrendering it.

Lowell is burglarized again.
“At the Lowell school, North 13th street and Yakima avenue, entrance was made via a window, it was found by W. H. Tackley, janitor. Finding the principal’s room locked, the burglar used a stool to get through the transome. The souvenirs [a passkey and pencil holder] were left here by the eccentric prowler.”

Principal Garretson (out of 3,500 teachers in the state) is chosen as one of 11 delegates to represent the Washington Educational Association at the National Education Association assembly in Indianapolis.

Principal Garretson fails to be reelected as Principal for the next school year and is placed on the retirement list.
“In submitting his recommendations relative to the teaching crops for the coming school year, Supt. eGiger [sic] requested the placing of the four principals and one teacher on the retired list as having taught the required number of years for participation in the retirement fund. The request was made, Mr. Geiger said, “for the best interest of the schools.”

The school board reverses course and decides to vote to keep Garretson as principal of Lowell.
